Quarreling over nothing
A while ago I came across an article by Orson Scott Card where he was talking about quarreling over nothing or in another word, trifle things. I feel that what he say reflects how we interact with people, our friends, brothers, sisters, parents, and those who we are close to. A lot of time we have bitter sibling rivalry because one side is not willing to compromise, took offense, and became angry with each other. Such way is not Christlike way. We are to have charity, a pure love of Christ for our fellowmen. There will be people who we will become angry with because of what they did or what we perceived did. Such thing are called contentions, which is not of God but of Satan. We are to try to understand each other position and put ourselves in their shoes. The Gospel Plan for our families involves being peacemakers, loving each other, helping each other out where we can. A lot of time we take offense at trifle maters and it became overblown into large problems. As the saying goes, making a mountain out of a mole. As Jesus Christ said to the Nephities: such thing should be done away.
